Fall Fun

 - by Gretel

Just a few quick pictures of Ilyana.  We went to a friend’s birthday party who was a big superhero fan, and the kids were making superhero costumes.  Ilyana’s version is below.  Grandma Sue made the kimono top that goes along with the outfit!

We also got a lovely gift from Grandma Ann today, who made Ilyana a great poncho.  She is very excited to wear it to school.

School and September

 - by Gretel

Life is certainly getting busy again now that it is September.  The summer weather has left quickly, with a 15 degree difference between August 31st and September 1st!  We’re not complaining though, as the cooler weather suits all of us much better.

Ilyana started her first day at her new preschool today.  Once she goes through the mandatory two-day transition in (one hour each day), she’ll be attending for a couple hours in the morning.  Next year will be PK4 at the neighborhood school, but for now we’re happy at the local Montessori.  We’re glad something will be familiar for her.

All else is going well – we’ve winterized a few plant beds, with a few more around the house to go.  The place is pretty well fixed up with a new roof and gutters as well.  We should be able to make it through the winter now that those are done.

Enjoy some recent photos!

Yes, she plays on the computer.  No, she can’t lock me out of it.  Yet.

You can tell she belongs to us – loves her corn on the cob (and bacon, too).
